Veteran Women of Influence was formed through the vision of two, former Air Force veterans, who are also mother and daughter, Delores and Cynthia McCrea. After serving our country and returning home to be diagnosed with PTSD, both struggled to find their footing and assimilating back into society. It was a rude awakening to find that there were so few programs that served veteran women, especially when it came to housing. After experiencing homelessness, Cynthia found out what it’s like to be left alone, with no assistance or guidance, yet still have the will to live and the desire to chase your goals and dreams. Therefore, in an effort to prevent other veteran women from enduring the hardships that come with homelessness, Delores and Cynthia formed Veteran Women of Influence and opened up the doors of their home, located at 4306 Cook Street, in Saint Louis’ Central West End, to provide transitional housing to veteran women who need assistance, guidance, and a safe place to lay their heads.
We strive to respect all of our clients and ensure to build mutually beneficial relationships where there is something for us both to gain through the exchange of information.
We genuinely serve our clients with compassion and empathy as we try to understand their plight and what they go through on a daily basis.
We are committed to giving out clients back the power to take care of themselves and stand on their feet, through classes and job opportunities.
We will always make great efforts to stay true to our vision, mission and values and provide our clients with the best, possible care.
